Northland Communications Mobilizes Storm Recovery Efforts

Crews are committed to restoring service to customers affected by recent severe weather. 

[Holland Patent, NY, July 17] Northland Communications, a Central New York-based telecommunications provider,

a Central New York-based telecommunications provider, is actively responding to widespread damage caused by the recent tornado in Rome, NY and severe weather across its service area. We are aware of the extent of the damage throughout our network and our crews are working diligently to restore service to customers as quickly and safely as possible.

“Our teams have been working tirelessly since the storm to address damage to our network,” said Brian Healey, chief operating officer at Northland Communications. “We understand the inconvenience this causes our customers, and we appreciate their patience as we work to restore service.”

Current Status:

  • Core network, access, and voice services remain operational.
  • Crews are actively clearing debris and making necessary repairs.
  • Rome, NY and the surrounding areas have experienced significant damage, and some access is currently restricted due to live wires on the ground and road closures.
  • Northland is coordinating closely with local utility companies to gain access to affected areas as soon as possible. Northland relies on the local power company to provide a safe working environment for its employees.
